There have been many days where I have wondered if I am taking life too seriously to really enjoy and experience the journey as is. And I am sure, there are many people out there wondering the same. So I decided to read up on it and reflect on my own experience to truly understand the big question…

”What is the purpose of life?” and how do we really experience it fully and enjoy it at the same time.

To be able to experience life in its entirety, it’s essential to lead with a healthy mind and soul. And one way to achieve that is to understand undeniable truths about life which can help us see this journey in a different light. 

These truths will allow  you to see life in a perspective that will give you the chance to experience it unconditionally, in all its form without sacrificing your mental health. I am sure there are many more you can add to the list below…but these are what resonates with me and helps me along my journey.

  1. You are in control of your own happiness and you are not responsible for anyone else’s.
  2. No matter how much we want to, there are situations and experiences in life that are out of our control.
  1. Mistakes will be made and you will mess up, and that is okay!
  1. People in your life will not be around forever. It’s an obvious truth but it’s one we often fail to acknowledge.
  1. What others think and say about you, is none of your business. Read that again.
  1. When someone is rude or unkind to you, don’t take it personally, it’s them and not you.
  1. Enjoy the present moment as it is, you will never get that time again.
  1. Time is the most valuable, be intentional with who and how you spend it.
  2. Health is the ultimate foundation for life, without it, there is nothing, so take care of it.
  3. Time heals all pain, you just have to get through it one sec at a time.
  1. Be authentic, don’t copy someone else’s life no matter how appealing it may be. Be true to who you are, your values and morals.
  1. Patience is a virtue, good things take time.
  1. Don’t underestimate anyone, everyone has knowledge to share.
  1. Change starts from within, so respect yourself, love yourself and believe in yourself.
  1. Winning and losing can look different for different people, so don’t compare your achievements and failures with others.
  1. Don’t try to change others, they are who they are and who they will be. 
  1. It’s important to say “No” to things that don’t serve you so you are able to make space to say “Yes” to what makes you happy.
  1. You cannot have it all, choose and focus on what’s important to you.
  1. Failure is a stepping stone to success. Trying and failing is far better than not trying at all.
  1. Be okay with rejection, not everyone is going to like you and not everything is going to suit you, and that is okay!

  2. Don’t try to please others, it’s not your job to make others happy.

  3. Do your best everyday, it doesn’t have to be THE best but YOUR best.
  1. Material wealth doesn’t make you happier, you will always be looking for more.

  2. Life is short. Do what makes your heart happy and walk away from what wears you down.

  3. You have the power to create the life you want, it all starts and ends with you.

  4. Everything big in life starts small, so don’t underestimate the little things in life.

Life is anything but simple…in fact it’s often more complicated than it is not. And to be really honest, you cannot expect it any other way given the dynamic elements of people, things, situations and experiences it’s composed of. 

Through your journey in life, you are constantly learning, growing, moving forward, finding acceptance, forgiving, losing, winning, succeeding and failing. If you aren’t experiencing all or any of it, the question then becomes…are you really living to your fullest capacity? 

You are here to experience it all, the good, the bad and the in between. It’s the only way through life and it wouldn’t be worth it, if it were any other way. It is then my sincerest hope that this blog will help you even in the tiniest way to realize that you can experience life entirely with all its ups and downs with a happy healthy mind.
