6 Simple Ways to Spread Love and Kindness

“Spread love everywhere you go. Let no one ever come to you without leaving happier.”
Mother Teresa

There is no denying, the world we live in right now can use some extra love and kindness. With so much going on in the world, it seems we have more chaos and uncertainty than compassion and unity. If we ever want to see a better world, filled with more love and kindness, well that change starts with us.

When I say change…I don’t necessarily mean a gigantic expensive gesture to create an overnight difference, absolutely not! Small simple acts of kindness and compassion is all it takes to make the world a better place. Small gestures which we pour into the world can cause a ripple effect of a power cycle of love and kindness…leading to a world that fosters a sense of belonging and togetherness.

You don’t have to wait for someone else to show you kindness…the change can simply start with you.

6 Simply Powerful Ways to Spread Love and Kindness

  1. Making Time

It seems nobody has the time these days to slow down, everyone is rushing to either finish a task or running late to get somewhere. We all know how valuable time is, so when someone takes time out of their life to share that with someone else, it shows a great deal of kindness on their part.

It can be for your family, your friends, someone you lost touch with or a complete stranger. Making the time for someone shows how important they are to you and how much you value them.

You can spend time talking, listening, reading to them or helping them with an activity. Volunteering is one of the greatest ways you can share your time, and it’s usually for people who really need it the most. So it doesn’t matter what you do, the important thing is that you make the time to do it.

  1. Handmade Crafts

We all have the tendency to go buy something for someone when it’s a special day, and at times we are often too busy to put much thought into it. We all think, as long as money is spent, then it should mean something.

That is not always true, rather than buying, making something using your time and effort, speaks more volume than what you buy at the store.

There is so much thought and personal touch that goes into an item that is curated by someone, even if it’s as simple as a card.

  1. Words of Encouragement

You will be surprised how much a word of comfort or encouragement can lift a person up! Whether someone is far or near you, there are many ways to check in on someone or communicate how important they are to you. You can write them a letter, a poem, an email, text message or just call them up and talk!

You can also share thoughts and ideas or even things that have helped you in your life, it can do the same for them. So next time you are wondering how someone is doing…reach out to them and let them know you care and you are thinking of them, hearing from you might be exactly what they needed!

  1. Food

Food is a form of comfort for many, whether it’s food that you cooked, baked or bought, you can never go wrong with sharing that with others. Food is such a necessity in our life, even a simple act of buying someone lunch or coffee, can go a long way in spreading kindness and love.

When someone pays this act of kindness forward, it can create such a powerful positive effect in the community and throughout!

  1. Gratitude

One of the greatest things you can practise in your life is gratitude. There are so many things in life you can be thankful for…especially the people in your life. We can easily take those dear to us for granted and not realise the difference they make in our life.

The most wholehearted way to spread love and kindness is telling people how much they mean to you and thanking them for their presence in your life. This simple gesture will not only make them feel cherished and loved but also create a dynamic cycle of positiveness in your life and theirs.

  1. Kind Gestures

Gestures don’t have to be grand or overwhelming, even a modest smile at a stranger, a hug to someone you know, helping a senior carry groceries, shovelling the neighbours snow can make a monumental difference in someone’s life.

Everyone wants to feel belonged and connected, and making someone feel included is one of the greatest ways to show love and kindness. Lending an ear when someone wants to talk, providing moral support and simply being there is all someone needs to feel valued.

CUP OF FINAL THOUGHTS ????

When an act of kindness is shown to someone, they are most likely to pay if forward, causing a ripple effect of compassion and unity. Small kind gestures can brighten someone’s day and lift their moods which overall contributes to the wellbeing of the community.
